Supportive Function: Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant; its popularity is reflected by the fact that it has even been named, "the most important flavonoid" (Nutr. Cancer 1993, 20:21-9).

When is Quercetin helpful? Allergies (both environmental and food), cold/flu, immune system, varicose veins, bone spurs, gum support, bruising, nosebleeds and eye support.
Clinical Applications Research: Quercetin: Quercetin, called, "the most important flavonoid" by some researchers, is a powerful antioxidant which has demonstrated cell-cycle homeostatic properties (Nutr. Can. 1993, 20:21-9). Being a potent bioflavonoid, quercetin is used for cellular homeostasis. It is effective because it stabilizes cell membranes, decreases the release of toxic mediators, and supports normal smooth muscle contraction (Murray M. Enc of Nat Med. Prima Publ., Rocklin, CA. 1991. p.298). Bioflavonoids also support capillary integrity (Merck Index, 11th ed. 1989. Merck and Co. Inc. Rahway, N.J. p. 1243), and stabilize the collagen matrix by preventing free radical damage. Quercetin has also demonstrated a positive, supportive effect on the immune system (J. Med. Virol. 15:71-79).

It has been hypothesized that flavonoids, especially quercetin, provide such strong support for the immune system and mental well-being that it is important to introduce them early in life (Clin Ther. 2015 May 1;37(5):984-95. Gut-Microbiota-Brain Axis and Its Effect … Immune Dysregulation. Petra AI, et al).
